Hey, I'm Felipe.
I'm a Senior Software Engineer
I've spent the last few years architecting, building and scaling web, mobile, and SaaS applications for startups and businesses. These days I work mostly on distributed systems and the financial and operational infrastructure underneath them: CRMs, payments, and the integrations that hold it all together. I also love to play jazz 🎷 and incorporate art and creativity into my work. I enjoy working on products that matter, combining technical depth with thoughtful execution. If you're building something purposeful and need someone who values clarity, quality, and collaboration, feel free to get in touch.
About.
Hey! I'm Felipe, if you haven't already gathered that by now. I'm an entrepreneur turned software engineer from Brazil, currently living in Vancouver. I'm a Senior Software Engineer, working mostly with Typescript, NestJS, and NextJS, but I love building with whatever tools are right for the job. Always fun to learn new things and expand what I can do with code!
I currently work at Wow 1 Day Painting as a Senior Software Engineer. I helped build the company's CRM from scratch: the systems that handle payments, scheduling, and keeping everything in sync while the business moves off its old platform. None of it happens alone, though: I've had the pleasure of working with some amazing people, and there's something satisfying about building the thing a whole business runs on.
Outside of work, I love to play jazz and cook. Any given Sunday you'll find me in the kitchen, cooking up a storm or playing my saxophone. Well, unless I'm dragging my friends on a hike around BC.
I'm always open for new projects or opportunities where I can merge my love for code with my love for creativity. If you've got an opening that I might be a good fit, let's connect 🔗

Experience.
Building the company's new CRM from scratch. I own the data model and the financial side of it: revenue, royalties, cross-region Stripe, and a reconciliation process keeps everything accurate. I also built an event-driven layer that keeps Salesforce and the new system in sync while franchises move across, and the resource allocation engine behind our workforce app. Early on I set our error codes and logging standards, which is what made it possible to build AI tooling on top that we can actually trust. One of the most interesting system I've worked on.
Built and run GoDelivr, a delivery route planning SaaS. It plans routes for several drivers at once, working around time windows, who's available and the areas they prefer, and pulls orders straight from Square. The rest of my time here goes to client work, everything from MVPs to speeding up React and Node apps that already exist. Running your own thing teaches you a lot.
Led a team of four and set the technical direction across our backend APIs, ML pipelines, frontend and cloud setup. Looked after CI/CD and how fast we shipped, and spent a good chunk of my time mentoring. Getting a team into a good rhythm is its own kind of engineering.
Built the NestJS backend for a whale reporting system that sends real-time alerts to mariners so they can steer clear of whales. It had to stay fast for thousands of people using it daily. I also built ML pipelines for recognizing marine animals from photos, which saved researchers a lot of manual measuring, and owned the React Native app and the Next.js portal. Probably the most worthwhile thing I've helped build.
Lead Developer for a new e-commerce platform. Built the entire front end with React and NextJS. Also customized the Medusa backend to fit our needs. It's been a fun project.
Built a website and custom CMS for a local business. The CMS was built using Strapi, React and Node. The website was built with Next. The client was very happy with the result.
Worked on a variety of projects for the GSL Group. Built a new React Native app for their sports teams. Also worked on other websites and a few other projects.
Volunteered to help build a SaaS for a non-profit in the ESL space. The website was built with React and NextJS.
Co-founded a startup that manufactured and sold food packaging. One of my roles was to build and maintain the website, besides the dozens of other hats you wear when running a business.
